QuickBooks Security Too High


Intuit recommends 2 solutions for this problem. The first solution may solve your problem, or you may need to try both to resolve the issue. For best results, perform the solutions in the order shown.

Solution 1: Reset Internet Settings to default
Estimated time: 5 minutes
1.Open Internet Explorer.
2.From the Tools menu choose Internet Options.
3.Click the Security tab.
4.Select the Internet icon.
5.Click the Default Level button at bottom right to reset the level to Medium.
6.Click the Local Intranet icon.
7.Click the Default Level button at bottom right to reset the level to Medium.
8.Click OK.
9.Close and reopen Internet Explorer.

If you still encounter the error, try solution 2.

Solution 2: Reset Internet Settings to default (Windows Server 2008/2003 only)
Estimated time: 10 minutes

Windows Server 2008:
1.Click the Windows Start button and select Server Manager.
2.Click the Configure IE ESC link.
Important: You may need to find this link in the Server Summary window depending on your configuration and user permissions.
3.Select Off for Administrators and Users and click Ok.
4.Reopen QuickBooks. You should not see the error message.

Windows Server 2003:
1.Click the Windows Start button and select Control Panel.
2.Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
3.In the left pane, click Add or remove Windows component.
4.In the the Windows Features list, clear the Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration check box.
5.Click Next.
6.Reopen QuickBooks. You should not see the error message.
